Unapproved Parts Notification
Composite articles produced and sold by Apache Modification Aircraft Corporation from December 7, 1998 until January 21, 2011 for STCs listed on attachment 1.
The purpose of this notification is to advise all aircraft owners, operators, manufacturers, maintenance organizations, and parts suppliers and distributors regarding composite articles produced using an unapproved resin during the manufacturing process.
Information gathered during a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) investigation revealed that from December 7, 1998 through January 21, 2011, Apache Modification Aircraft Corporation, 1893 Airport Road, Kalispell, MT, 59901, produced and sold multiple composite articles using an unapproved resin. All unapproved articles were manufactured for various Supplemental Type Certificates held by Apache Modification Aircraft Corporation.
Regulations require that type-certificated products conform to their type design. Aircraft owners, operators, manufacturers, maintenance organizations, and parts suppliers and distributors are encouraged to inspect their aircraft and/or aircraft parts inventory for the referenced part number(s). If these articles are found in existing inventory, it is recommended they be quarantined to prevent installation until a determination can be made regarding their eligibility for installation.
Further information concerning this investigation can be obtained from the FAA Manufacturing Inspection District Office (MIDO) given below.
