Thank you for joining us on the AskBob® community. AskBob is the aviation maintenance industry’s premier online community providing news, discussion forums, tips and tricks, events calendar, supplier directory, training, jobs board, and a lot of fun. The whole idea behind AskBob is that there is a wealth of experts in the industry who can share information, news, tips, stories, etc. Every company seems to have someone that everyone goes to for answers. At ATP that person is Bob. Have a question, ask Bob. AskBob is the aircraft maintenance forum where we can all communicate with all the Bobs in our industry.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy at AskBob has always been to provide valuable resources, quick information, and open discussion for aviation maintenance. We are not trying to compete with magazines or news outlets in the industry, and we are not here just to advertise ATP. Instead, we encourage all information resources to join and participate. We envision a world where aircraft maintenance professionals have a complete resource with tools for finding information and communicating or collaborating with peers and industry experts, regardless of location or company.

Our History

AskBob was started by Aircraft Technical Publishers (ATP®) in 2006 as a simple blog for communicating with our customers. A Product Marketing Specialist at ATP, Bob Jones, was frequently being asked questions about aviation maintenance. Someone suggested starting a blog to capture the questions and answers so that anyone in the industry could benefit from them.

As the site grew, we quickly realized that there was a strong demand for more tools and open discussions on aviation maintenance topics. Based on this realization, in 2008 we decided to do a major upgrade to AskBob. The site evolved from a simple blog to a complete community forum where anyone in the industry could share questions, answers, tips, tricks, fun stories and anything else related to maintenance. In the future, we plan to continue expanding and evolving AskBob to help us reach our vision.

Who is Bob

Bob Jones is a Product Marketing Specialist at Aircraft Technical Publishers (ATP). With over 15 years experience at ATP, and many more in the Aviation Industry, Bob has a wealth of knowledge and is one of many, valuable “Ask” resources at ATP. If you are an aviation maintenance professional, then it is very possible that you have met Bob at some point.
