This notification advises all aircraft owners, operators, manufacturers, maintenance organizations, and aviation parts distributors regarding non-conforming MS and NAS O-Rings sold with altered material certifications.
BACKGROUND:
Information received during a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) suspected unapproved parts investigation revealed that Chatsworth Rubber (CDL) located at 7223 Canoga Avenue, Canoga Park, CA 91303, sold MS and NAS O-Rings that were not in accordance with specifications. Several were labeled as “Parker” (and some misspelled as Parkert”) O-Rings.
Chatsworth Rubber sold the O-Rings to several distributors, FAA production approval holders, and for a variety of military and commercial applications.
