Air Charter Safety under scrutiny by House aviation subcommittee. How to prove them wrong
You may have seen this article last week. "AIR CHARTER SAFETY" will come under scrutiny during a House aviation subcommittee hearing scheduled for March 17.
The focus of the hearing is expected to be on a report from the Department of Transportation Inspector General last summer titled “On-Demand Operators Have Less Stringent Safety Requirements and Oversight than Large Commercial Air Carriers.” The report drew criticism from the National Air Transportation Association, which said the IG conducted “an apples-to-oranges comparison” and presented an inaccurate picture of the Part135 regulatory environment. NATA President James Coyne will be among those testifying."
Continuing in our forum of Part135/91 safety compliance and conformance, ATP is prepared to support the aviation community today in assessing safety and maintaining conformance of documentation and compliance to regulations.
Since we have been supporting Part 121 operators to demonstrate conformance to the FAA's Air Transportation Oversight System (ATOS) for 3 years now, the same capabilities are available to you today. ATP's ICAP software-as-a-service solution is prepared for the ATOS-like oversight as Part of the FAA’s Safety Assurance System planned for 2013, affecting Part 135 and 145 certificate holders.
So what can you do today? ATP's ICAP offering supports IOSA audits today (see press release March 8 2010) and is positioned to support both Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) audit checklists and International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO).
Rather than wait for the Safety Assurance System mandate in 2013 - start now. Get ahead of the curve and manage your operations and compliance on your terms and within your day-to-day budget.
