About Bob

Hi, I am Bob Jones, Product Marketing Specialist for ATP. I have enjoyed many assignments in my 14 years at ATP. Tech Support, Product Specialist, Product Manager, Solutions Architect to name just a few. My door still has the bracket that held the beads from my Solution Architect stint (it IS California you know). In spite of all the fun I managed to learn a lot about ATP, our products and processes. Conducting support calls, training classes, trade shows, IA Seminars and other activities has allowed me to be in contact with our customers. Frankly, our customers are the best. It is a pleasure to support, train and otherwise help customers with our products. It also helps keep me close to an industry I love and grew up in. My dad was a B25 pilot and after discharge a airframe fabricator. I remember the glint in his eye as he pointed to a aluminum box behind the captain seat of the Spruce Goose and exclaimed "I built that".
So what does this all have to do with a blog? Well with both a GA and PC backgrounds and years at ATP I am one of the "Ask" resources at ATP. Have a question, Ask Bob! Truthfully there are a number of people here with aviation, computer and other backgrounds that make ATP tick. My secret is that after 14 years, I know were to find all these smart people. I know who to ask and where to go with a question on a product or service. Over the years there have been some very interesting questions asked by customers and employees. One of those really smart persons here suggested we capture the questions and answers and assemble them into a blog. Thus the birth of the Ask Bob Blog. I hope to offer tips, tricks, product understanding and maybe an occasional muse about aviation maintenance in general.
